This site is dedicated to researching the Harty Family in the United States of America. Drawing our lineage back to Hans Jacobsen Hartje, immigrating from Bern, Switzerland and arriving in America on April 16, 1663 in New Amsterdam (modern day New York City), our line has been based out of Southeast Missouri since the late 1790's.
The primary aim of this site is to gather the family together from across the Nation and even the entire world, as we seek to number our family and take pleasure in the diversity of each individual in the Harty Family.
I've been wanting to do this video for sometime. It is a slide show of mainly family pics (and other photos I found on the internet on public domain) of the life of my grandfather, Paul Hampton Harty. My dad is his firstborn child, Paul Hampton Harty Jr. The video, I hope, does a fair job of chronicling my Grandpa Harty's life, as well as the impact that his life continues to have on his posterity.
Without any further ado, I'll post it and say, Happy Father's Day to my Dad!!! I want to thank you for helping me see my ancestors 'in color', many of who I haven't ever met, only through stories from you.

Thanks for that Brent, it was really well done. You really look like your GF!! I was surprised by how much. . . loved the story in song, and the photos were perfect for it. . .great job. . thanks for sharing! Happy Fathers Day to you too
Thanks Lyn...glad you enjoyed it. Yea, I've noticed over the past year or so that I looked quite a bit like my Grandpa Harty. Maybe it became more apparent after I lost 50 lbs! I learned a lot from him, and always liked to be around him. I didn't necessarily learn from something he said (as he didn't talk a whole bunch) but I really learned from his example. And I guess that is the best way to learn from someone as actions speak louder than words.
Have any of my siblings written you about the video that you did for me on Father's Day? I heard them talking about it and that they liked it! So did I! Thanks again - Dad
Glad you liked it Dad. I enjoyed making it. It came out liked I hope it would. I'm pleased with the end product. Jimmy and Joe like watching it with me too!
Well done, Brent! Thank you for sharing this with us. It's awesome how the pics and the song go well together. I'm going to see if I can download it and get a copy to Mom to watch. She would just love it to pieces, as I do.
Celesta...glad you enjoyed it. I can have Bethany send you a good copy of it via zip file if you like. There was a pic of your mom and Izella that I couldn't fit in the video in the spot I wanted it to go. I really liked the pic a lot...tell your mom sorry for me. Again, glad you liked the vid!
